Learning Sciences seeks a Marketing Copywriter for its West Palm Beach, Florida office with a successful track record of creating compelling content for B2B and educators. We need a copywriter strong enough to be brilliant in a conservative industry. Can you write headlines that make people think and want to learn more? Can you write copy that informs, inspires, and sells? Does your portfolio reflect your brilliance? Then come on down, you're the person we've been looking for.

The successful candidate will be a skilled communicator who can create order out of big ideas and effectively articulate the essence via written and verbal communications. You are passionate about education, comfortable writing for a variety of media, and willing to execute on the small details. You should be willing to go into the field to interview our partners and clients and develop ideas for marketing to specific audiences based on feedback. If you can create compelling content on the fly and juggle many projects at once, we want to hear from you.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Translate complex or ambiguous ideas into effective written and verbal communications to a highly informed audience through print, web and digital media
  • Establish a clear and strong voice for Learning Sciences International and its multiple brands and product families
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of creative writing techniques for all communication channels including, but not limited to: collateral, web site, email, social media, blog, SEO/SEM, press release, online and offline advertising, etc. for all product lines
  • Write and edit technical content, such as product web pages, case studies, whitepapers and quick start guides
  • Contribute to the development of the content strategy, participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions
  • Assist with the formulation of marketing messages and UVPs through collaboration with product owners, sales and marketing teams, to shape messages and simplify complex concepts
  • Continuously seek new understanding of the marketplace and target audiences through direct interaction with current customers and prospects to develop attention-grabbing, content-rich copy
  • And other duties, as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of direct experience writing and editing, strong knowledge of AP or APA standards preferred
  • Bachelor's degree with preference to degrees in English, Writing, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or related field
  • Knowledge of copywriting best practices for direct mail, web, email, SEO, phone scripts, etc.
  • Expertise in crafting headlines and short-form copy, as well as long-form copy, ghostwriting, etc.
  • Be proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with an attention to detail
  • Must embrace and be effective in a collaborative team environment
  • Flexible with strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset
  • Superior editing and proofreading skills
  • Innovative thinker and creative problem-solver
  • Experience writing for an advertising or a marketing team, or a journalism background, is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Education or related industry experience strongly preferred

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature
  • Ability to read monitors over 2/3 of the time and communicate with others
  • Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation
  • Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
  • Occasional travel required, including up to 5% overnight travel by land and/or air
